Outdoors

Grazing

The farm consists of 80 acres, which is all currently down to grass. The paddocks that the horses are turned out in, are all newly fenced with electric fencing all round. The mares and geldings are split up and there is a nursery field for the youngsters. Sheep are cross-grazed with the horses and has proved very easy and successful to manage. We take our own hay and haylage from another field which enables us to feed quality forage as we use organic fertilisers and can guarantee no ragwort is present.

Hacking

There are two types on road and off road. We have both. The roadwork around us consists of quiet country roads offering circular routes of varying lengths and have the mixture of flatwork and hills, great for fittening work or a quiet amble in the countryside all the while enjoying the fresh air and the wonderful scenery.

The off road hacking is excellent as we have exclusive access to a newly planted forestry plantation, with direct access from the farm (no roadwork whatsoever). There are over 250,000 trees to work your way round. Again there are various ways round, with some fairly steep hillwork to some flat ambles. The choice is yours!
